Sig Sauer's military and law enforcement division offers their SIG Professional Program which is similar to Glock's blue label program. Individuals who qualify can purchase specific firearms, optics, and accessories at a price lower than comparable commercial variants. And that brings up another point: Not all guns on the Armed Professional Program are identical to the commercial models. We purchase from both SIG's commercial and law enforcement division with separate inventory and unique part numbers. Some guns like a standard P365 are identical while others like the P226 Legion are black on the LE side vs gray on the commercial model. Other items such as the Military model M17 and M18 (the identical product shipped to the US military) were available in limited numbers on the Professional Program while never offered on the commercial market. Similarly, the SIG 516 rifle (a piston driven version of the M400/AR15) was removed from the commercial market years ago, but it's still available in limited quantities for the Professional Program.
Unique and uncommon items at a discounted price is a win-win, but only for those who qualify. And that has been an ongoing gripe we've had with the program for a number of years. If were are a current law enforcement officer, retired law enforcement officer, first responder, active duty military, or retired military you would qualify for the program. The issue was if an individual served the military with an honorable discharge and didn't get to the 20 years for retirement you would NOT qualify to purchase from SIG's program. Customers would sometimes get upset with us because they saw combat in service and we had to tell them they didn't qualify. Unfortunately these were the rules and the terms we agreed to in order to participate in the program.
Today, all of that changed for the best. Effective immedietly, Sig Sauer's Professional Program is open to ALL VETERANS. If you served and in any military branch and can provide a DD-214 showing honorable discharge you will now qualify. We are very thankful for that SIG changed this requirement and we can offer a discount for those who gave years of their life in service of our country.
