We got our hands on a very odd Sig P226 this week!
This P226 has a full length dust cover which makes it much different from most other Sig pistols. Additionally, it has a some pretty desirable features:
- Skeletonized hammer
- Short reset trigger
- Stainless frame (total weight without magazine is 39.5oz)
- Flared decocker lever (looks like the one used on the P226 X5 All Around)
- Oversized slide release / slide stop lever (at a quick glance looks much like the ones used on the X-Series)
- Adjustable rear sight
- Fiber optic front sight
- Triple serial numbered (serial on slide, barrel, and frame)
- Heavy barrel (15mm)
- Ships with 3x 17rd MecGar magazines

Sig Sauer spared no expense, as usual, with their 2017 SHOT Show booth.
In recent years, Sig's booth has grown along with the variety and depth in their product lines.
Below are some photos from Sig's booth at the 2017 SHOT Show. We'll try to stock the majority of their new products and should have new items arriving within a month or two.
Sig has been selling the 1911-22 pistol for over a year and with the popularity of their P220, P226, and P229 conversion kits we've been wondering why they didn't release a 1911-22 conversion.
We actually asked about whether or not Sig would make such a kit about a year ago and we were told they were planning on releasing a kit but they had no idea when it would be available.
Last week we noticed that Sig had added the kit to their website in the drop down list with the standard P220, P226, and P229 conversion kit. We placed an order and they just came in. Continue reading
In this clip from the NRA's new "Life of Duty" series, a panel of current and former law enforcement and security professionals talk about what an armed attack on American soil by multiple terrorists on a "soft" target like a school or a tourist hotel would be like. Watch, and ask yourself, are YOU ready for the worst day of your life?
Some food for thought there.
Sig Sauer has a new platform coming out which will be very similar to the P250 and it is the P320.
The P320 is going to be a modular striker fired handgun with modularity like the P250.
The P320 will be available in sub-compact, compact, and full size frames (grip shells) and the same sizes for slides. Calibers will likely include 9mm, .40 S&W, .357 Sig, and .45 ACP. I have not seen anything to suggest that .22 LR will be offered but I feel Sig is missing the boat if they don't make that caliber available. Currently the P220, P226, and P229 can be converted from centerfire calibers down to .22 LR with the separate conversion kit.
