Franchi's Affinity 3.5 item 42413 is a 12-gauge inertia-driven autoloader with a 26-inch chrome-lined barrel and a 3-1/2-inch chamber that also cycles 2-3/4-inch and 3-inch shells. Stock and forend are Mossy Oak Bottomland. Barrel and receiver wear Patriot Brown Cerakote so rain and ice are less of a problem than bare steel.

Franchi includes a TSA recoil pad (rated to cut felt recoil up to 50 percent), oversized bolt handle and bolt release, and a beveled loading port so you can run the gun in gloves. The receiver is drilled and tapped. A shim kit sets drop and cast; length of pull is 14-3/8 inches with the standard 3/4-inch pad. Drop at comb is 1-1/2 inches; drop at heel is adjustable from 2 to 2-1/2 inches. Magazine capacity is four in the tube plus one in the chamber. A 3.4-ounce stock counterweight is in the box if you want to change balance. The one-piece trigger group comes out for cleaning.

Chokes in the box are cylinder, modified, and full, plus a wrench. Sight is a red fiber-optic front bar. Overall length is 47.5 inches; weight is about 6.9 pounds. Franchi's minimum recommended load is a 3-dram, 1-1/8-ounce 12-gauge shell. Seven-year warranty.
