FTX uses a Flex Tip — a soft elastomer point that will not crush the primer of the cartridge ahead of it in a tubular magazine. That point also keeps the bullet from flying like a flat-nose lever load. Hornady lists up to 250 fps over a traditional flat point and more remaining energy downrange. From an 8-inch test barrel they list 1,440 fps and 645 ft-lb; at 50 yards 1,281 fps / 510 ft-lb; at 100 yards 1,154 fps / 414 ft-lb.
