Canik METE MC9 – 9mm Micro Compact, Black, 15+1 (HG7620-N)
The METE MC9 is Canik's answer to the micro-compact carry market, and it arrives with the thing that makes Canik worth paying attention to: a feature list that reads like a gun costing considerably more. Optic ready from the factory, ambidextrous slide stop, reversible magazine release, three interchangeable backstraps, and a 21.27-ounce carry weight on a 3.19-inch barrel. Canik part number HG7620-N, UPC 787450852563.
Sized to Actually Disappear
At 6.1 inches long, 4.52 inches tall, and 1.16 inches wide, the MC9 lands squarely in the size class that made micro-compacts the dominant carry category. That is small enough for appendix carry under a t-shirt, and it does it while holding 15 rounds — a capacity that would have been full-size territory not that long ago.
Optic Ready Without a Plate Stack
Rather than a plate system, the MC9 uses a removable optic sight lid secured by two T10 Torx screws. Pull the lid and micro red dots mount directly to the slide, which removes a layer of hardware and keeps the optic sitting as low as possible. Canik lists compatible optics including the MECANIK M01, Shield RMS, and SIG Romeo Zero, along with Canik's own ONYXc and PHANTOMc.
Sights and Controls
- White dot front sight with a blacked-out serrated rear — the setup that keeps your eye on the front sight instead of trying to line up three dots under stress.
- Ambidextrous slide stop and a reversible magazine release, so left-handed shooters aren't an afterthought.
- Three interchangeable backstraps in small, medium, and large.
- Under-barrel Picatinny accessory rail for a weapon light.
- Loaded chamber indicator visible on the slide, plus a striker status indicator — the firing pin shows red when cocked.
Safety System
The MC9 uses a trigger safety lever and an internal firing pin block. The firing pin cannot move forward unless the trigger is deliberately pulled. There is no manual thumb safety on this model.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it come with two magazines?
Canik lists "12/15 round magazines" with the pistol. Contact us to confirm the exact magazine complement in current production.
Can I mount a red dot without buying a plate?
Yes. The MC9 uses a removable optic sight lid rather than a plate system — compatible micro red dots mount directly to the slide.
Is there a thumb safety version?
This model does not have a manual safety. Canik's safety system is the trigger safety lever plus an internal firing pin block.
How does the MC9 differ from the MC9L and MC9 Prime?
The MC9 is the smallest of the family. The MC9L has a taller 17-round grip; the MC9LS adds a longer 3.64" barrel; the MC9 Prime is the 3.64" gun with Night Fision tritium sights and a flat-face aluminum trigger.
