The SIG SAUER HYP brings the 6.8x51mm (.277 SIG Fury) cartridge developed for the U.S. Army's Next Generation Squad Weapon program to a direct-impingement semi-auto rifle. The rugged design is optimized for high-pressure hybrid-case ammunition, with steel-reinforced components in high-wear areas and a 4-position adjustable mid-length gas system.
A 16" chrome-lined, hammer-forged barrel with a 1:7 twist sits under a free-floating M-LOK handguard, and fully ambidextrous controls (bolt catch, mag catch, safety and charging handle) make the HYP easy to run from either side. It ships with a SIG steel magazine developed for the NGSW program.
