Why Suppressor Height

Standard-height sights disappear below a mounted red dot. Suppressor-height sights sit tall enough to appear inside the optic window — so if the dot fails, dies, or fogs, your irons are already there and already aligned. They also clear a suppressor. It's the configuration anyone running a red dot on a serious pistol should be in.

Tritium Front, Blacked-Out Rear

SIG's reasoning: "The blacked-out rear sight, paired with the XRAY3 tritium front sight, enables fast and intuitive target acquisition." A blacked-out rear gives your eye nothing to compete with the front — you find the glowing front post, drop it in the notch, and shoot. Three-dot systems split your attention; this doesn't. The XRAY3 green #8 front post is tritium, so it works in the dark without batteries or a light source to charge it.

Fitment — Check Your Model First

Installation — Armorer Required

SIG's published requirements: the front sight must be pressed in using a sight pusher; the rear sight attaches from the top with the supplied screw. Installation requires disassembly beyond field-stripped condition, and SIG requires that only certified SIG SAUER armorers install these parts kits — damage from incorrect installation is not warranty covered. SIG also specifies the kit be installed as a full unit with no part substitutions.
