SIG SAUER P226XCA ROMEO-X SIG-LOC PRO – 9mm, 3.8" Bull Barrel, Optic Installed

SIG calls it "The P226. Evolved." — and the evolution is that it arrives with the red dot already on it. The P226XCA is the X-Carry configuration: a 3.8-inch bull barrel with a target crown, a matte black DLC stainless slide on a black anodized alloy frame, Hogue G10 grips, XRAY3 day/night sights, and a factory-installed ROMEO-X SIG-LOC PRO enclosed optic that co-witnesses with those irons. At 33.1 ounces with a magazine, it is a carry-length P226 that shoots like a full-size one. SIG SKU 226XCA-9-RXSL-10, UPC 798681740116.

The Optic Is Already On It

The ROMEO-X SIG-LOC PRO ships factory installed, mounted on SIG's SIG-LOC interface. That matters for two reasons. First, you are not buying a gun and then buying an optic and then paying someone to mount it. Second, SIG-LOC is a purpose-built locking interface rather than a plate stack, so the optic sits low and stays put. The XRAY3 day/night sights are standard height and co-witness with the dot — if the optic ever goes down, your irons are already there in the window.

The Bull Barrel

The 3.8" bull barrel with a target crown is the accuracy story. A bull profile is heavier and stiffer than a conventional taper, which reduces whip and improves consistency, and the target crown protects the rifling at the muzzle where damage would hurt accuracy most. On a carry-length slide, it also puts a little more weight forward, which flattens the gun in recoil.

Hogue G10 and the X-Series Frame

The grip module is Hogue G10 — the layered composite that gives a hard, positive texture that doesn't go slick when your hands are wet, and doesn't wear smooth the way checkered polymer does. Under the dust cover is an M1913 accessory rail for a light.

SIG P226XCA Specifications

P226XCA vs. P226 X-Five Classic — Which One?

We stock both, and they are very different guns:

Short version: the XCA is a carry gun that comes with a red dot mounted. The X-Five Classic is a 45-ounce all-stainless target pistol with no optic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the red dot really come installed?
Yes. SIG lists "Electro-Optic Installed: Yes" and describes the ROMEO-X SIG-LOC PRO as factory installed.

Do the iron sights co-witness?
Yes — SIG states the optic co-witnesses with the standard-height XRAY3 sights.

Is a higher-capacity version available?
Yes. The same pistol with three 18-round steel magazines is SKU 226XCA-9-RXSL. This SKU is the 10-round configuration.

Does "XCA" mean California compliant?
No. XCA = X-Carry, a size designation. SIG's state-compliance field is blank for this SKU.
