5.5" Barrel and HBPDW Brace
Under the aluminum handguard is a 5.5" chrome-moly vanadium 9mm barrel, Melonite coated, 1:10 twist, muzzle threaded 1/2x28. Springfield tops it with the SA Muzzle Drum; the muzzle device is removable for that thread. The SB Tactical HBPDW brace is a low-profile collapsible assembly with a short proprietary buffer system and three-position adjustability. Springfield lists overall length at 18.5" to 23.25" and weight at 5 pounds 15 ounces.
Receivers, Handguard, and Controls
- Forged 7075 T6 upper and lower, Type III hardcoat anodized. Lower has Springfield's Accu-Tite tension system.
- 9mm blowback bolt carrier group. Full-length top Picatinny rail.
- Aluminum free-float handguard with SA locking tabs and M-Lok; low-profile hand stop on the forend.
- Nickel boron coated flat trigger; 45-degree short-throw ambidextrous safety.
- B5 Systems polymer trigger guard and B5 Systems Type 23 P-Grip.
- QD receiver end plate; standard charging handle; 3-position adjustable receiver extension.
