First Focal Plane Is the Whole Point

In a first focal plane scope, the reticle grows and shrinks with the image — which means the EBR-2C's hash marks subtend the same value at every magnification. A 2 MOA holdover is 2 MOA at 4x and at 16x. In a second focal plane scope, your subtensions are only correct at one magnification, and you have to remember which one. If you're holding over rather than dialing, FFP removes an entire category of error.

The EBR-2C Reticle

The EBR-2C is a hash-marked ranging reticle using MOA-based subtension lines for ranging, holdover, and windage corrections. It's a precision grid, not a hunting crosshair — considerably more capable and considerably busier than a BDC reticle. If you shoot known-distance targets, practice wind calls, or want to range with the reticle, this is what you want.

Dial or Hold, Your Choice

• Exposed turrets — dial elevation and wind directly, no caps to remove and lose.
• 1/4 MOA clicks, 15 MOA per rotation, 85 MOA total elevation and windage.
• Side parallax from 20 yards to infinity — useful range, and short enough for rimfire and airgun work.

Why first focal plane?
The reticle scales with magnification, so the EBR-2C's holdover and ranging marks are accurate at every power — not just at one. The tradeoff is that the reticle looks very fine at 4x and thick at 16x.

MOA or MRAD?
This is the MOA version. Vortex also makes it in MRAD (DBK-10027). Pick whichever matches your turrets, your reticle, and how you already think about corrections — mixing units is the most common source of missed shots.
